Add LMSN to your home screen
Installing LMSN on your phone gives you a one-tap app icon — exactly like any other app on your home screen. It opens in its own window without the browser bars, and signs you in faster the next time you come back.
What the icon will look like
The exact shape depends on your phone — iPhones round the corners slightly; Android may show it as a circle, a squircle, or a rounded square depending on the launcher you use. The artwork is the same either way.
On iPhone (Safari)
Only works in Safari — not Chrome or Firefox on iOS.
- 1. Open this page in Safari. If you opened the link in another app (Gmail, WhatsApp, Chrome), tap the address bar at the top, copy the URL, and paste it into Safari.
- 2. Tap the Sharebutton — it looks like a square with an arrow pointing upwards. It's at the bottom of the screen on iPhone.
- 3. Scroll the share sheet down until you see “Add to Home Screen”. Tap it.
- 4. A preview appears showing the LMSN icon and the name “LMSN”. Tap Add in the top-right.
- 5. Done. Close Safari and look for the LMSN icon on your home screen — same as any other app.
On Android (Chrome)
Chrome is the default browser on most Android phones. Edge, Brave and Samsung Internet work the same way.
- 1. Open this page in Chrome.
- 2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right of Chrome (just to the right of the address bar).
- 3. Tap “Install app”. On some phones the option may be called “Add to Home screen” instead — both do the same thing.
- 4. A small confirmation appears. Tap Install (or Add).
- 5.Done. The LMSN icon will be on your home screen and in your phone's app drawer.
Changed your mind? Long-press the LMSN icon and choose Remove from Home Screen (iPhone) or drag it to the trash (Android). You can always come back to portal.lmsn.org.uk in your browser.
